Kane was one of WWE's most featured superstars during his full-time run with the company between 1997 and 2018. In a recent podcast appearance, the wrestling legend reflected on a concerning injury he once suffered in a match.

On October 24, 2005, Shawn Michaels defeated The Big Show and Kane on RAW. Midway through the bout, The Big Red Machine landed awkwardly after receiving a top-rope suplex from The Big Show.

Kane said on The Undertaker's Six Feet Under w/Mark Calaway podcast that he could not walk and ended up in hospital:

"It felt like I got hit with a baseball bat across my kidneys. I mean, it just knocked the wind out of me. I threw my legs like really funky, so I threw my back out. I couldn't walk. I mean, I was able to finish the match, barely, just because of adrenaline, but I couldn't walk. They had to take me to the hospital." [1:52:25 – 1:52:45]

The finish saw Michaels pin The Big Show after hitting his Sweet Chin Music finisher. Moments earlier, The Undertaker's storyline half-brother was supposed to receive the same move but the injury caused him to fall over before Michaels could connect.

What happened after Kane's unfortunate injury

The 2021 WWE Hall of Famer quickly recovered and returned to the ring a week later. Eight days after the incident, he and The Big Show teamed up to win the tag titles from Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch at Taboo Tuesday 2005.

Kane added that the uncomfortable suplex landing caused a muscle issue but no serious injury:

"They did an MRI and there was no damage. I think my muscles had just seized up, so a couple of days later I was fine. A little sore but I was okay. But that was the most painful thing that had ever happened." [1:52:47 – 1:52:59]

The former WWE Champion also addressed whether he and The Undertaker could become two-time Hall of Famers one day.
