A popular WWE Superstar has sent a heartwarming message to IYO SKY following the latter's massive win on Monday Night RAW. The Damage CTRL member outlasted fourteen other women to become the No.1 contender for the Women's World Championship. The name in question is Dakota Kai.
In the opening segment of the latest edition of the red brand's show, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce announced a Battle Royal to determine the next challenger for Liv Morgan's championship. Towards the end, Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez approached the squared circle and dragged Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair out of the ring to set up the final showdown between IYO SKY and Lyra Valkyria.
SKY hit Valkyria with a German Suplex while the two fought at the ring apron. The 28-year-old fell to the outside, making the former WWE Women's Champion the No. 1 Contender for Liv Morgan's title. Dakota Kai recently took to Instagram Stories to reshare a clip of the final moments of the match:
"😭🩷," wrote Dakota Kai.

Former WWE writer believes a former champion should have won the Battle Royal instead of IYO SKY
WWE Head Writer Vince Russo recently claimed that Lyra Valkyria should have won the Battle Royal.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Russo stated that someone on the management is fond of SKY. He pointed out that Valkyria is facing a slump following an impressive start to her main roster run. The 63-year-old added Lyra needed the win more and should have won. Vince Russo believes Liv Morgan will retain her title irrespective of the challenger:
"Somebody, I don't know who it is, somebody over there is a huge advocate of IYO SKY. Someone is a huge, huge advocate of IYO SKY. Remember Valkyria came in with such fanfare. I mean, if anybody needed to win this match, it was her. I wouldn't say she's in the doghouse but they kinda hit the brakes on her a little bit. She came out of the gate red hot and she really, really could have used the win here. Let's face it whoever wins this match is putting over Liv anyway," said Russo. [4:35 onwards]

IYO SKY is in pursuit of her second singles title win on the main roster. She won her first title by cashing in the Money in the Bank contract on Bianca Belair at SummerSlam 2023 to become the WWE Women's Champion. SKY held the championship for an impressive 246 days before losing it to former stablemate Bayley at WrestleMania XL.
