A former WWE host recently revealed she was in a romantic relationship with WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross for two years. She has now disclosed why they broke up.
The person in question is Missy Hyatt. During an appearance on the Cafe de Rene podcast last May, the 60-year-old revealed that she dated the current AEW color commentator after his wife died. In a recent interview with the same podcast, she disclosed more details about their relationship. The former WCW host stated that she had known the 72-year-old for many years and had always had a crush on him since she first met him in 1986. However, he had a girlfriend at the time, who ended up becoming his wife.
After inviting her to appear on his podcast, Ross and Hyatt started talking two years after his wife passed away in 2017. They eventually developed a romantic relationship:
"I've known him forever since '86, and I've always had a crush on him. And we worked together in WCW and stuff. But he had a girlfriend, and then he married her, Jan, who I loved, who was a wonderful lady. And then I called him after she passed away and, you know, gave him my condolences and stuff, and then about two years after that, he called me and said, 'Hey, you want to do my podcast?' And we started talking and talking and talking, and then every day we talk and talk and talk and talk and then he finally invited me to Oklahoma, and I went to Oklahoma, and that was it. We dated for a couple years," she said.

Nevertheless, Hyatt claimed it was hard for them to continue together, pointing out that they wanted different things. The former WWE host disclosed that she wanted to get married again:
"But it was hard, you know. When he moved to Jacksonville and bought a condo on the beach, I was with him and helped him pick it out and stuff. And I was telling him, 'Well, we gotta get rid of the popcorn ceiling. We gotta do this and gotta do that.' You know, I thought I was gonna get the redo it. Well, he got the lady that did the stadium for the Jaguars or whatever to do it and paid her like 350/hour to, you know, be the designer, and that hurt my feelings. And he didn't really want what I wanted because I wanna get married again. I don't know why, but I do. I'm still young. I wanna find my life partner, who I found luckily by accident." [25:54 - 27:27]
Missy Hyatt paid special tribute to the WWE Hall of Famer in her book
Missy Hyatt had much respect for Jim Ross long before they became a couple. The former host even paid special tribute to the WWE Hall of Famer in her book, Missy Hyatt: First Lady of Wrestling, published 23 years ago.
The 60-year-old stated that he was the only person in the business always by her side, dubbing him her "mentor, shrink, and friend":
"I'd like to pay special tribute to Jim Ross. He was the only person in this crazy business who was always on my side; he was my mentor, my shrink, and most importantly, my friend. Jim, even if I never said it in words, I hope you know how much your support has meant to me through the years," she wrote.
Hyatt had a very brief run in WWE. In her previous appearance on the Cafe de Rene podcast, she claimed one of the reasons former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon turned on her was because she refused to sleep with him.
