According to Chris Van Vliet, reigning World Heavyweight Champion Gunther could be facing an up-and-coming WWE Superstar on RAW's debut on Netflix. The Ring General doesn't have any challenger yet for his title on January 6, which already seems like a stacked show.
Three matches have been announced for RAW's first episode on Netflix. Roman Reigns will take on Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat to determine the real Tribal Chief and holder of the Ula Fala. Liv Morgan will defend the Women's World Championship against Rhea Ripley, while CM Punk will fight Seth Rollins in a highly anticipated bout.
On the latest episode of his Insight podcast, Chris Van Vliet answered some questions from his fans and followers. Van Vliet gave a rundown of the red brand's match card for its debut on Netflix, noting that it has a PLE feel. He also predicted The Rock's possible return, John Cena starting his farewell tour, and The Ring General defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul.
"It is not official yet, but it looks like we’re gonna see Logan Paul vs. Gunther. That’s big. Then we got John Cena starting his farewell tour, so that’s big. Sure sounds like, it hasn’t been announced yet, but The Rock’s gonna be there, so there’s another one," Van Vliet said. [From 28:20 -28:35]
Former WWE writer buries Judgment Day HERE
The 29-year-old WWE star declared on the Netflix kickoff event on Wednesday that he has moved to RAW. The Maverick has already set his goal of winning the World Heavyweight Championship.
Gunther warns Logan Paul, threatens to 'slap' the former US champ
After Logan Paul intended to go after the world title, Gunther quickly responded to The Maverick. The Ring General initially praised the former United States Champion before threatening to slap him.
"I think my English is pretty good by now, but I’ll make it even simpler. If Logan Paul thinks he can walk in here and take this away from me, if he ever makes it to the top of the line to challenge me for the World Heavyweight Championship, it will be my duty and my pleasure to slap that stupid smirk out of his face," Gunther said. It will be interesting to see if WWE adds another high-profile match for RAW's debut on Netflix. Gunther vs. Logan Paul certainly falls into that category, especially if the World Heavyweight Championship is on the line.
