WWE SmackDown is filled with infamous moments and some would clearly not fly in today's day and age. Recently, Dawn Marie recalled her infamous flashing segment and stated why it worked perfectly.
In 2003, Dawn Marie was in a talked about, yet controversial, segment when she flashed the live crowd on SmackDown. The segment occurred after she lost her feud with Torrie Wilson. WWE would not re-create anything of the same magnitude anymore, as times have changed.
In an interview with Ring the Belle, Dawn Marie addressed the controversial flashing segment from SmackDown. The 53-year-old star stated it worked due to it being a different time and era. She also spoke fondly of the segment and its execution.
"I remember that. I don't know; they just wanted me to do it, and I was like, 'Okay, I'll be out there. What do you want me to do? I don't care.' Just pay me... That was great. That was art. That was really a different time. I mean, my whole career was walking that line, like putting my foot on the line, crossing it, and doing all that. So, it was perfect. It was good," Marie said.
