Sami Zayn was part of the original storyline of The Bloodline for more than a year before an unlikely reunion at Survivor Series: WarGames. Zayn recently shared the heartbreaking reality of being part of the most complex story in WWE history.

The Underdog from the Underground initially joined The Bloodline in mid-2022 by calling himself The Honorary Uce. His story with the group culminated when he won the Unified Tag Team Championships with Kevin Owens from The Usos at WrestleMania 39.

Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Sami Zayn opened up about his time with The Bloodline. Zayn acknowledged that it was a difficult time for him because he had to be away from home due to how hectic their schedule back then. Her wife was left to take care of their son by herself.

"The schedule at that time was really really demanding and it was really a challenging time for me personally. Just because I had a child at home and my wife was dealing with it all alone it. It was really tough," Zayn said. [From 07:56 to 08:08]

Sami Zayn reacts to Kevin Owens using the Package Piledriver on Cody Rhodes

At Saturday Night's Main Event, Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes after losing the match for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Owens hit a Package Piledriver on Rhodes, who had to be stretchered off to a medical facility because of the dangerous move.

Sami Zayn knows a thing or two about taking the brutal maneuver due to his historic rivalry with KO that dates back to their days at Ring of Honor. Zayn shared his thoughts on the use of the Package Piledriver on the Battleground podcast.

"I feel like I used to take that move a lot. My neck is not so good nowadays, and it’s probably better that I haven’t taken that move in a long time,” he said. “It was almost like seeing a ghost. You know what? I mean, it was very strange, like a memoir of a past life. For me, personally, just seeing that was kind of a bit of a surreal moment," Zayn said. [H/T: Fightful]
