A former WWE Superstar recently addressed Trish Stratus' controversial 'bark like a dog' segment with Vince McMahon. She claimed she would have done it if she was in Stratus' position despite it being "degrading."
In 2001, Vince McMahon was involved in an on-screen affair storyline with Stratus. Before WrestleMania 17, the former Chairman humiliated her in a controversial segment. He ordered her to undress in the ring, get on her hands and knees, and 'bark like a dog.' On the latest episode of her Eyes Up Here podcast, former WWE star Francine addressed the controversy that surrounded that segment as she reviewed Netflix's Mr. McMahon docuseries.
The ECW legend stated that she understood that the segment was done to get heat on McMahon. Although she admitted it was degrading, The Queen of Extreme revealed that she would have done it if she was in the position of the former seven-time Women's Champion.
"It was a segment on television and it got the response that they wanted it to get. So, are you a feminist that is against this stuff? Like they said, turn the TV off. Don't watch. It's that simple. I'm a woman. I didn't take offense to it. I do think some things are in poor taste but that really doesn't bother me. It's degrading, yes, but it got the reaction that they wanted it to. If I was in Trish's position, I would have did it. That segment, I would have done it," she said. [16:40 - 17:20]

What did WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus say about the controversial segment?
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus was one of the legends who appeared on Netflix's Mr. McMahon docuseries. She addressed her controversial segment with the former Chairman.
The Diva of the Decade pointed out that although many wanted her to say the segment was horrible, she did not see it that way. Instead, she believes it achieved its purpose.
"With the barking like a dog segment, they want me to be like [exhales] 'it was horrible,' but that's exactly the sensitive feeling we wanted you to feel. Don't you get it? We knew we were presenting a scene to the fans. We knew it was going to be talked about, and be interpreted and misinterpreted. The thing is, when we did that scene, we knew the comeuppance would come at WrestleMania," she said. [H/T: Fightful]
In the docuseries, Stratus also addressed Linda McMahon's reaction to her on-screen affair with her husband. She also disclosed that she was probably punished for refusing to kiss another female WWE Superstar.
