"It's really easy" - Vince McMahon reveals the cunning plan he used to snatch WWE title from wrestling legend

Former WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon has grabbed headlines around the world again this week. The 79-year-old is the subject of a recent Netflix docuseries showcasing his life and career in the pro wrestling business.

Vince was the primary force behind making WWE a global phenomenon. He bought the company from his father and went to war with the existing territory system. This venture also led to him working with legendary star Wendi Richter.

In episode three of the Mr. McMahon docuseries, Vince spoke about his complex relationship with Wendi Richter and the events leading up to the scre*job. He revealed that he started having problems with Richter during her run in 1985, and she did not want to give up the Women's Championship.

"Wendi Richter was the champion and everything was fine for a while. But Wendi had become a problem as I recall. When it was time to do the honor and pass that championship to someone else, she resisted," he said.

Vince McMahon pointed out that when Richter claimed she wouldn't relinquish the gold, he devised a plan to make her give it up.

"The match is in the ring and Wendi has the championship. It's really easy. Somewhere in this match, Wendi is gonna get rolled up. I told the ref simply just count to three," Vince said.

Interestingly, a similar situation presented itself to WWE and Vince McMahon in 1997. This time Bret Hart was at the receiving end, and he had the title snatched from him at Survivor Series before his move to WCW.
