Ivar was out for most of 2024 with a career-threatening neck injury. He now has permanent nerve damage. The star has stepped back into the squared circle again alongside his tag team partner Erik, who was also out for an entire year owing to the neck fusion surgery he had.
Repackaged as The War Raiders, they returned to WWE RAW on October 14. This past Monday, the duo dethroned The Judgment Day to become World Tag Team Champions.
In the latest episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Ivar reflected on his wrestling career thus far, stating that this run could be his last. He noted how it is a second chance as he discussed gratitude for how things turned out. Even if it is for a week or five years from now, The War Raiders are not going to take a second for granted:
"Grateful to be back in the ring, on WWE television, with my tag partner, who went through a similar injury. To be back doing what we love, and to get this, I don't know, one last opportunity or—this one last opportunity could last for the next 10 years. I don't know [laughs] it really could. But this feels like the last. This is our run. It could be the next five years or the next week. We're going to give it our all. But I'm really grateful to be given this opportunity because there was a period when we didn't think it was an option," Ivar said. [From 01:07:22 to 01:08:01]

Ivar also discussed the influence WWE CCO Paul "Triple H" Levesque has had in their career. It was Levesque's idea to bring them back as The War Raiders and to use him as a singles star when Erik got sidelined back in October 2023.
Does Erik and Ivar have to worry about The New Day on WWE RAW?
It is 2024 and The New Day is a heel tag team. It may have been hard to fathom before, but Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods choosing to berate Big E has led to fans rejecting them as the babyface duo they once were.
The New Day have 12 WWE Tag Team Championship reigns to their credit. Perhaps they are looking to add another feather in the cap? Considering how remarkable the angle played out a few weeks ago, WWE is most definitely not going to leave the revitalized legendary tag team behind, are they? If that is the case, then The War Raiders have some serious competition.
