Jade Cargill was attacked backstage on WWE SmackDown last month and the Women's Tag Team Champion has been written off TV since. Company officials have noted that they are still investigating the issue. Meanwhile, Naomi has partnered with Bianca Belair to help defend the tag titles, and the pair retained over Nia Jax and Candice LeRae on the most recent edition of the blue brand.

There has been a lot of speculation about Jade Cargill in recent weeks and whether her injury is real or kayfabe. However, she took to her Instagram account today to break her long silence and shared an interesting, yet heartbreaking update. She posted a photograph that shows her looking at someone with blood on her face and it had no caption.

This is an intriguing update because Cargill was out cold when she was discovered, so it is unclear if this means that she saw who attacked her or if this was taken later. On the flip side this update could also be a hint that she was back on her feet.

Cargill was expected to be sidelined for several months and since the attack, she has remained away from social media. However, this social media update could be a turning point that leads to her SmackDown return and possibly even identify her assailant(s).

Jade Cargill could have been attacked by someone close to her on WWE SmackDown

The only people who have been ruled out of attacking Jade Cargill backstage on WWE SmackDown are Piper Niven, who was accompanying Chelsea Green, and Blair Davenport since they were all at ringside for the Triple Threat qualifying match at the time.

Bianca Belair was also part of the Triple Threat qualifying match, but she was the last entrant and could have had the time to carry out the attack on her tag team partner. Many fans believe it could have been The EST after recent teases of a feud between her and Cargill. Or it could have been Naomi so she could take The Storm's place.

Meanwhile, Naomi has successfully moved into the role of Women's Tag Team Champion while Cargill is sidelined. So if she was responsible then it seems that her plan might have worked.

Does this update mean that Cargill will be back much sooner than planned, or that she is looking for her attacker herself?
