WWE News: James Ellsworth posts picture with legendary WWE jobber Gillberg

James Ellsworth is having a great run so far in the WWE.

James Ellsworth has shocked everyone including himself by gaining extraordinary popularity in recent weeks after being included in an intriguing storyline alongside the WWE Champion AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose. He recently posted a picture on Twitter with the most famous jobber of all time, Gillberg.

He has captioned the tweet as “Me and my tag team partner”, the reason being the portrayal of both of these men as jobbers and the similarities in their characters. Ellsworth has also previously stated that he would like to work with Gillberg on the Independent circuit as they’ve known each other since quite a while.

Gillberg is most famous for his run in the WWF as a parody of the then rival company WCW’s superstar Goldberg, he was also a part of the J.O.B Squad with Al Snow, Scorpio and Bob Holly. His other achievements include being the longest reigning Light Heavyweight Champion after holding the belt for 15 months.

The “Gillberg” gimmick was still portrayed by him even after his departure from the WWE especially in the independent circuits, most prominently for Maryland Championship Wrestling. He has had several memorable moments, here is a video showcasing one of them:

Ellsworth has captured many eyeballs ever since his debut against Brawn Strowman in a squash match, but his phrase “Any man with two hands has a fighting chance” during the pre-match promo is what really added to his charm as the underdog. Here is the video of his debut:

Apart from that Ellsworth has been trumping several superstars in the WWE in Merchandise sales, his T-Shirts have sold more than the ones of Roman Reigns, Goldberg and Dean Ambrose in the past couple of weeks.

With several rumours suggesting a full-time contract and a Royal Rumble spot for Ellsworth, the journey has been great so far for him and the future looks bright!
