Janel Grant’s petition against the WWE wellness doctor has led to a statement being issued by Vince McMahon’s spokesperson. The legal battle between Grant and Mr. McMahon took another turn on July 16, 2024, when Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and John Pollock of POST Wrestling reported that the lawyers of the former WWE employee have filed a pre-action discovery petition today against Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness, Inc.
The report states that Janel Grant was sent to the clinic on instructions of Vince McMahon in November 2019. She stated that she received treatments that were not disclosed to her, including pills and I.V. infusions.
Grant added that when she asked Dr. Colker about the treatment and the substances being administered, he allegedly pushed back and questioned whether Janel trusted him.
A spokesperson of Vince McMahon commented on the filing with the following statement to Wrestlenomics:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"Ms. Grant’s petition for pre-action discovery against Dr. Colker is a direct violation of the court-ordered stay, and nothing more than an attempt to generate publicity on her false allegations and to harass people connected to Mr. McMahon, who is being sued by Ms. Grant in a separate matter."
The spokesperson added that Grant reportedly never had anything bad to say about the doctor to Mr. McMahon:
"The facts are that Ms. Grant told Mr. McMahon she was fatigued and asked him to recommend a doctor. Ms. Grant called Dr. Colker and became a patient of his. Her statement in the filing is inconsistent with her prior remarks. Ms. Grant never had anything but good things to say about the doctor when speaking to Mr. McMahon and others about him.”
Janel Grant had agreed to pause the lawsuit for six months earlier this year. Meanwhile, a federal investigation has continued against Vince McMahon.
Vince McMahon wanted a former WWE Superstar to team up with Mark Henry
Many WWE Superstars have talked about their awkward moments and meetings with Vince McMahon. Matt Hardy recently opened up about a rather controversial gimmick Mr. McMahon wanted him to do.
Matt revealed that he would freestyle rap with John Cena in tour buses at times. This led to Vince McMahon wanting him to do a rapper gimmick with WWE legend Mark Henry.
"John [Cena] started doing the whole rapper gimmick and whenever we did European tours, we would have long bus rides. Sometimes four, five or six hours, and a lot of times, there was a group in the back that would do freestyle raps, and it would often come down to myself and John, and we’d be like the last two. Vince [McMahon], at one point, wanted to stick me with Mark Henry. He had an idea; he said, 'Well, you can rap and act black, right?'" Matt Hardy said.
Matt Hardy added that the gimmick was fortunately brushed under the rug by WWE. The legend later went on to sign with AEW.
