Jey Uso and Sami Zayn's friendship goes way back. When Sami first joined the Bloodline, Jey opposed him as he didn't trust him. However, Sami gained his trust over time, and the two men became quite close until Sami betrayed Roman Reigns. Their friendship reunited after Jey also left The Bloodline.

When Jey moved from SmackDown to RAW to escape his family, Zayn was among the first people to greet and welcome him to the red brand. Needless to say that both men have developed a strong bond over the years.

Now, Jey has restarted his feud with The Judgment Day after he expressed interest in Rhea Ripley last week. He even asked for her number after his win against Dominik Mysterio. Tonight, Judgment Day were searching for Jey to teach him a lesson.

JD McDonagh and Carlito found him backstage and attacked him while Sami was being interviewed. Sami saw him being attacked and made the save as Judgment Day was sent in retreat.
