Jey Uso made a bold claim ahead of this week's edition of WWE RAW in Texas. The veteran did not compete in a match at WWE SummerSlam last Saturday night.
Main Event Jey departed The Bloodline following his loss to Roman Reigns in a Tribal Combat match at SummerSlam 2023. He joined the RAW roster and has become a very popular singles star.
In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, the former champion commented on possibly winning a major title in the future. Jey Uso said he must come through when the time was right and would not stop until he got the job done.
“I need to deliver when the time is right. I won’t stop putting in the work until I do," he said.
Jey Uso also shared that he was honored to continue his family's tradition in professional wrestling.
“We’re here to keep the bloodline and the lineage strong. I’m very proud of it. This is our family’s life. It’s not a story, it’s our reality," he added. [H/T: Sports Illustrated]
Cody Rhodes welcomed Jey Uso to the WWE RAW roster during his appearance on The Grayson Waller Effect at Payback 2023. The 38-year-old and Cody Rhodes had a brief reign as Undisputed Tag Team Champions last year.
Bill Apter reacts to potential WWE storyline with Jey Uso
Legendary journalist Bill Apter has shared his thoughts on romantic storylines in wrestling. Jey Uso invited Rhea Ripley to go to Waffle House with him on a recent edition of RAW.
Uso recently responded to his father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, criticizing the company for potentially putting him in a romantic storyline with Rhea Ripley and not capitalizing on The Yeet Movement. Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Apter compared romantic storylines in wrestling to movies and claimed that is how fans should look at things nowadays.
"Keep in mind, before the internet and all that, when these scenarios happened, people weren't sure of the line between fantasy and reality at all. But now, everybody screams out that this is the WWE. They all scream out that these are the characters that they're playing. So you got to look at it, not like an old-school wrestling fan. Like it's a movie and one of your favorite movie stars is married to someone but he's screwing around with someone on the screen." (4:32-5:11)

Jey Uso is a 10-time Tag Team Champion but has never held a singles title in the company. It will be interesting to see what the company has planned for the veteran moving forward now that Roman Reigns has returned to WWE SmackDown.
