WWE Superstar Jey Uso's Intercontinental Champion win has undoubtedly drawn the attention of other wrestlers, eager to challenge his dominance. Austin Theory appears to have taken notice, seemingly calling out The YEET Master ahead of the upcoming SmackDown episode.
It's been over a year since The Unproven One formed an alliance with Grayson Waller on the blue brand. Together as A-Town Down Under, they won the WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania XL but lost it to #DIY after a 90-day reign.
Meanwhile, the former Bloodline member captured his first-ever Intercontinental Championship on the September 23, 2024 episode of RAW. Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker to secure the title.
During an appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Austin Theory expressed his admiration for Jey Uso but also a desire to defeat him in the ring. The 27-year-old WWE star acknowledged that he has yet to win the Intercontinental Championship but is determined to achieve all his career goals, including winning major titles and prestigious accolades:

"I love Jey Uso though and I'd love to beat him up. So hey we can talk about him all you want (..) I've never been an Intercontinental Champion, but I'm definitely marking off the boxes of all these titles, and briefcases, and whatever you want to call these achievements, I'm taking them all," he said. Austin Theory's last singles title reign was as United States Champion, which lasted for 258 days before he was defeated by Rey Mysterio when he moved to SmackDown following the 2023 Draft.
Jey Uso comments on his first WWE Intercontinental Championship challenger
This week on Monday Night RAW, it was announced that The New Day member Xavier Woods would challenge The YEET Master for the IC Title on next week's red brand.
During a backstage RAW Talk interview with Jackie Redmond, Jey Uso shared that he was excited to renew his rivalry with Xavier Woods on Monday Night RAW. He praised the 38-year-old WWE star's tag team skills and recalled their previous competitive history, indicating that he expects a high-quality match:
"Hell yeah, man, Xavier Woods deserves this opportunity, man. Great tag team. We had this historic rivalry before; I know how he'd get down, man, so I'm excited to put on next week on Monday Night RAW, man. We're going to put on again, it was yeet," Uso said.
It remains to be seen if Main Event Jey would potentially retain his IC Title in his first title defense on WWE RAW next week.
