Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette has shared his honest thoughts on WWE introducing the brand-new Women's Intercontinental Championship. The 63-year-old thinks that the Stamford-based company should have waited for a couple of months.
A brand-new Women's United States Championship was also unveiled by the company recently, and multiple SmackDown stars went one-on-one against each other in qualifying matches to be able to compete for it. Adam Pearce unveiled the Women's Intercontinental Championship last week before RAW, which means there are now two mid-card titles in the women's division.
While speaking on the latest edition of his Jim Cornette Drive-Thru podcast, former WWE manager Jim Cornette questioned why the company was introducing both titles around the same time. He thinks that the Women's Intercontinental Championship should have been brought in six months after the Women's United States Championship was revealed.
"They have announced they're going to have a Women's Intercontinental Championship too. I can't wait to see that... Even if you want to get another belt for the women on both programs, doing it at the same time, doesn't that create some confusion in the marketplace? Do it six months apart," Jim Cornette said. Cornette even responded to a comment that there was not any demand for the titles:
"You haven't seen the line of women's wrestlers hanging outside Triple H's office? If you want to see demand for another women’s belt." [1:20 - 1:28]

Former WWE manager Jim Cornette on LA Knight feuding with Shinsuke Nakamura
LA Knight is currently involved in a feud with Shinsuke Nakamura on WWE SmackDown. The Megastar lost his United States Championship to The King of Strong Style at the Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 Premium Live Event.
While speaking on his Jim Cornette Experience podcast, former WWE manager Jim Cornette stated that he had forgotten that Nakamura even existed.
"This is what I'm talking about. LA Knight finally wins with the BFT [against LDF's Berto] and he's celebrating in the ring. Suddenly, he gets leveled by a guy in a black leather raincoat, and it's shaky [Shinsuke] Nakamura! I had forgotten that he existed, charitably enough. They keep giving him people 'who gives a sh*t' and here comes, 'who gives a sh*t,'" Jim Cornette said.
It will be interesting to see how Jim reacts to Shinsuke Nakamura defeating LA Knight at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024.
