The Miz has had quite a career in WWE, from being a competitor on Tough Enough, getting a contract with WWE, becoming a tag team wrestler, then climbing up the mid-card and finally becoming WWE Champion.
He has also gone on to have a reality show, and has acted in several movies and television shows. The Miz, throughout his WWE career, has been an underdog, and hasn't been taken seriously. But, he has carved a niche for himself, winning numerous titles with his in-ring work improving over the years, while his strong point, i.e. his work with the mic, has also improved.
It has been a decade since The Miz last won the WWE Championship, which he held for just over five months, before losing it to John Cena. And, it seems that he may not have the opportunity to win it again, as per WWE Hall of Famer, Jim Ross.
Jim Ross on why The Miz won't win the WWE Championship
While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW commentator Jim Ross, spoke about a wide range of things, including The Miz and his world title run.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
JR said that he didn't know why Vince McMahon made The Miz the WWE Champion, but his "gut feeling" was that the WWE Chairman had confidence in The Miz to "carry his share of the water as the WWE Champion".
He then revealed why he believes The Miz may not become WWE Champion again:
“You never say never in WWE because they do strange booking and they come out of left field from time to time which is not unusual for any booker or any creative group. I don’t know that he will be the WWE Champion again. Would it surprise me? No, but I would kind of doubt it. He’s one of those guys like Jake Roberts used to be. He didn’t need the title to be over. As long as the Miz is able to communicate in whatever form that may take, he will be a top guy.” (H/T WrestlingNews)
The Miz is a Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion and has won numerous singles and tag team titles, but another world title run may not happen for him anytime soon.
