John Cena is returning to WWE for his final Royal Rumble next year, but an ex-employee believes that a legend is coming back to confront him. The 16-time world champion is set for his last run with the company as he will retire at the end of the year. The two stars will have a big confrontation in front of them.
Ex-WWE employee and producer Tommy Carlucci joined Jonathan Coachman on this week's episode of The Coach & Bro Show, filling in for Vince Russo. He talked about the ending of the 2025 Royal Rumble and named The Rock as a possible opponent for John Cena.
John Cena and The Rock are two of the biggest stars in WWE history. Tommy Carlucci believes that to end the Royal Rumble, given that WWE has already announced Cena, The Rock is returning as a surprise, and the two of them having a confrontation to end the Rumble makes sense. He felt that the two stars should be the last remaining ones, and one of them winning was possible.
"I want to see The Rock and Cena at the end of the Royal Rumble. If I was writing the Royal Rumble, I'd make John Cena [come] first... and then pull out the surprise when the Final Boss comes out at like #25. They go face-to-face again... Let's go back to Miami, the two WrestleManias that we built a year apart. It's all come to this - 'It's my last time.' 'I'm the Final Boss.' 'F*** you.' Who's going to win? That's how I'd end that show." [23:30 onwards]
Fans will have to wait to see if Carlucci is right, and this happens.
