WWE analyst Peter Rosenberg recently discussed the company's possible plans for John Cena's upcoming retirement tour. The Cenation Leader is set to hang up his boots at the end of 2025.

Cena has been the biggest face of World Wrestling Entertainment for over two decades. He is also among the most decorated stars in WWE history, and many fans want him to win his 17th World Title before he is done with wrestling. Since The Chain Gang Soldier announced his retirement, several people have been talking about how he would be booked throughout 2025.

During a recent edition of Cheap Heat, WWE analyst Peter Rosenberg said the company might book John Cena against younger talents, without any significant storylines before the 16-time World Champion hangs up his boots.

"Let me tell you what would have happened in the past and maybe now. John Cena comes back to TV, he starts saying he's open for [sic] challenges. He takes on this guy, which there's no real consequence. He takes on the young guy, he beats one, he loses to one, he tags with one. He has a match with one and then they tag together and then the guy earns a shot and they're all sort of like guys that he's 'getting over.' And in the end, nothing that meaningful happens. He just hangs out, cuts tons of promos, and leaves," he said.

Peter Rosenberg also mentioned that the Triple H-led promotion could take a different route and get inspired by The Rock's heel turn at the start of this year and do something similar with John Cena.

"Or we can be inspired by what The Rock did last year and show that you can show up as a part-timer, who has kind of graduated from the everyday roster and be part of a real consequential story. 'Cause that's what The Rock did last year. He was a consequential piece of a huge story, where he was willing to be the bad guy, well, however, he got there, he was the bad guy," he added. WWE Superstar Randy Orton talked about possibly facing John Cena in 2025

During a conversation with Adam's Apple, Randy Orton said he would let the creative team decide whether he should face John Cena during the latter's WWE retirement tour.

"John and I just let creative do what they do. And if it's meant to be, then, you know, it'll be meant to be. But I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it," he said.

It will be interesting to see whether John Cena will face his arch-rival Randy Orton at WWE WrestleMania 41.
