Gunther has held the World Heavyweight Championship since WWE SummerSlam 2024. WWE analyst Peter Rosenberg recently speculated that The Ring General could lose the gold to John Cena before The Cenation Leader drops it to another top superstar.

On RAW's debut on Netflix, Cena returned to kick off his farewell tour. He announced that he would compete in the Men's Royal Rumble match as he plans to win his 17th world championship and break his and Ric Flair's record. On his Cheap Heat podcast, Rosenberg claimed the 47-year-old legend could be the one to end Gunther's World Heavyweight Championship reign.

The former 24/7 Champion proposed that Jey Uso could then dethrone The Cenation Leader to win his first-ever World Heavyweight Championship.

"I mean, it depends if Cena ends up going Gunther, right? If Cena gets it from Gunther, I don't know, is there a world in which Jey could take it off Cena?" Rosenberg said. [35:41 - 35:48]

WWE analyst Sam Roberts predicted John Cena's road to WrestleMania

On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts addressed the potential Road to WrestleMania 41 for John Cena. He claimed the 16-time World Champion could lose the Men's Royal Rumble before winning the Elimination Chamber to earn himself a world title match at The Show of Shows.

Roberts then suggested that Cena unsuccessfully challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship on Night One.

"I so badly wanna go into WrestleMania with this idea that, 'Okay, Gunther's had a long title reign. Clearly, this is where John wins the title and gets the record.' He doesn't. Gunther beats him. And it's like to me, that moment and that's why you can do it on Night One because you can have a hero's thing on Night Two. Night one, you can have your villainous, you know, 'I can't believe it. What do you mean John Cena didn't... We were all here to celebrate John Cena.' And so, if anybody is gonna spoil it for John Cena at WrestleMania, I want it to be Gunther."

It will be interesting to see whether Cena and Jey Uso will hold the World Heavyweight Title in 2025.
