Former WWE Champion John Cena is among many other names to share his reaction to the company launching a brand-new program for independent wrestling promotions. The Franchise Player also congratulated Triple H and his team on social media ahead of the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event.

The game-changing WWE Independent Development (ID) program aims to identify and train promising talents from independent wrestling schools like Booker T's Reality of Wrestling and Cody Rhodes' Nightmare Factory. By providing financial resources and opportunities, this historic move intends to elevate the independent wrestling scene and groom future WWE stars.

Taking to X (FKA Twitter), John Cena applauded WWE's latest announcement, highlighting the global fan base that drives the company's success. He emphasized the importance of education and experience in realizing these opportunities and congratulated The Game and Co.

"Such an incredible time to be passionate about @WWE. From fans around the world who fuel the current superstars to those hopeful of one day standing in a WWE ring, this is a massive step forward for us all. I feel education and experience are keys to unlocking opportunity. Glad to know WWE feels the same. Congratulations to Triple H and the whole team at #WWE!" he wrote.

Current WWE champion teases a match with John Cena at WrestleMania 41

At the 2024 Money in the Bank, The Cenation Leader announced that he would embark on a 12-month Retirement Tour in 2025.

In an interview with 105.1 The Bounce, reigning United States Champion LA Knight stated he would like to face John Cena at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

"Man, its tough to call that because you look at the fact that I'm the United States Champion right now. You also look at the fact that it's John Cena's last WrestleMania. Is there an opportunity there? Yeah, maybe. Is there something with the WWE Champion Cody Rhodes or with the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, or whoever might be at that time, because who knows who will still be by then?" Knight said.
