John Cena is preparing for his WWE retirement. The 16-time World Champion recently announced that he will wrap up his in-ring career in 2025, and since then there have been constant rumors on his final opponents. Cena has just offered a major tease for one of those potential matches.

The Face That Runs The Place has worked with and against several celebrities over the years in the Stamford-based promotion, including Kevin Federline, Jon Stewart, and Seth Green. WWE has been a celebrity-friendly organization since the beginning, and that trend continued this weekend at SummerSlam as JellyRoll got involved.

The longtime fan opened The Biggest Event of The Summer with two performances, which included an introduction from Triple H. The rapper-singer later got involved after A-Town Down Under interrupted R-Truth and SummerSlam host, The Miz during a special segment at the premium live event.

Jelly took to X (fka Twitter) today to recall his big segment with the tag teams at SummerSlam, which ended with the 39-year-old and Awesome Truth taking Grayson Waller and Austin Theory out. He called it absolute madness, and unreal.

"Absolute madness- unreal - butter biscuit bombs baby," Jelly Roll wrote with the video below.

Cena responded via X this afternoon and teased a potential tag team match with the Grammy-nominated artist. It would be fitting if the Cenation leader had one final celebrity match in his 2025 retirement campaign. He declared that JellyRoll's Time Is Now.

"Have listened to his music, had the privilege of spending some time with him, and now know I have a GREAT option for a tag team partner anytime @WWEcomes to Nashville! @JellyRoll615’s Time is Now!!!! #SummerSlam," John Cena wrote.

JellyRoll's, "Liar," and "Dead End Road" singles were previously announced as official SummerSlam theme songs. After opening Saturday's PLE at Cleveland Browns Stadium with a powerful rendition of "God Bless America," Triple H provided a grand introduction to get things fired up. Jelly then performed his new song, "Liar."

JellyRoll lived childhood dream at WWE SummerSlam

JellyRoll has found major success in his 21-year career as a singer, rapper, and songwriter. The Tennessee native has been a lifelong pro wrestling fan and has attended numerous WWE events while collaborating with the company on occasion.

After his viral appearances at the 37th annual SummerSlam PLE this Saturday, JellyRoll took to X to thank WWE for helping his childhood dream come true.

"Crazy- I lived a child hood dream tonight in the craziest way I’ve ever lived it. Wow. Man thank you @WWEfor everything . What a night," JellyRoll wrote.

JellyRoll has attended several wrestling shows in the past. He appeared on RAW from Nashville back in November 2023, and was present for WrestleMania 38 and 39, among others.
