John Cena kicked off his farewell tour this week on WWE RAW. The Cenation Leader announced he'll be entering the Men's Royal Rumble match to secure a world title shot at WrestleMania 41. It seems Cena's father has an idea of who his son could end up facing on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
On a recent episode of Live Q&A on Backstage Pass, Bill Apter revealed the conversation he had with John Cena's father following RAW's debut on Netflix. The Hall of Fame journalist said Cena Sr. picked Gunther as his son's ideal opponent for WWE WrestleMania 41.
"I asked him if he had a choice of his son choosing either Gunther or Cody [Rhodes]. He said he thinks Gunther would be the match because he's got that Greco-Roman classy style, and John's style with his style would complement each other very, very much," Apter said. [From 07:04 onwards]
