WWE star John Cena announced his retirement last week at Money in the Bank. The star showed up at the premium live event and made the heartbreaking announcement.
Cena's retirement tour has been capturing headlines across the industry. During the post-Money in the Bank press conference, the 16-time champ laid out the plans to hang up his boots. He mentioned that he will have a farewell tour throughout next year which will start in January 2025 and end in December.
This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, former WWE head writer Vince Russo detailed that the new management and policies possibly influenced John Cena's decision to retire. He pointed out how Cena was a Vince McMahon guy and possibly he didn't have the same level of collaboration with Triple H and the rest of the new management under TKO.
"I think Cena and Taker, from what I gather, were probably the two talents closest to Vince. That's what I could take away... So I think Cena could be bowing out because Cena was a Vince McMahon guy. Cena might not like working under the great regime of Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Cena's made it clear bro. We even heard stories, he was at Vince's birthday dinner, remember all that stuff? So Cena may be a guy that's not big into the Triple H regime." [From 11:35 onwards]

It will be interesting to see how the company books the Cenation Leader's final run starting next year.
