WWE News: John Cena speaks on his big WrestleMania moment

John Cena popped the question on the grandest stage of them all...

What’s the story?

Early in the morning after WrestleMania 33, John Cena posted a Tweet on his Twitter account in regards to his big moment at WrestleMania where he proposed to Nikki Bella.

In case you didn’t know...

Cena and Bella have been a couple ever since November 2012.

On the Total Divas and Total Bellas shows, marriage was quite the touchy subject. Cena was previously married and the divorce wasn’t a smooth one for him. He had told Bella at one point that he’d never want to get married again.

The heart of the matter

Cena’s tweet is as follows:

Cena and Bella were heavily boo’d compared to some big pops for Miz and Maryse last night during the match. Even post-match there were more boo’s than cheers, but by the time Cena said what he had to say and proposed to Nikki, the crowd embraced and cheered for the couple.

Here’s a video of the moment:

What’s next?

Expect both John Cena and Nikki Bella to be away from the WWE for a little while after WrestleMania 33.

John is going to be doing some filming for movies “The Pact” and “Daddy’s Home 2”. As for Nikki, she was going to continue wrestling after WrestleMania 33, but the word now is that she’ll take some time off to allow her neck to heal.

Author’s take

There are many instances in professional wrestling where I do not go with the majority. I actually enjoy it when John Cena is on the television, especially over the past two years, where he has worked hard to provide some amazing matches.

I thought the proposal was a great moment to watch. Was it as magical as when Macho Man Randy Savage proposed to Miss Elizabeth? No, but this moment will hold it’s own in the history of WrestleMania.
