Johnny Gargano reunites with former ally after heel turn; blockbuster faction teased

Johnny Gargano finally reunited with his former friend at a live show. They even teased a potential run together as a faction.

During the latter part of Johnny Gargano's NXT run, he formed a faction with Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell, and Austin Theory called The Way. However, after Gargano returned to WWE, he was a babyface and feuded with Theory for a bit. He even tried to get Theory to turn on Grayson Waller for a while.

However, in recent weeks, Gargano has had a sudden change in attitude ever since the December 6 episode of SmackDown. That was when DIY won the WWE WWE Tag Team Titles from Motor City Machine Guns in a questionable manner, thereby turning heel in the process.

Tonight, WWE held a house show in Miami as part of its Holiday Tour. During the show, DIY defended the WWE Tag Team Titles against A-Town Down Under, Motor City Machine Guns, and Street Profits. During the match, Gargano and Austin Theory double-teamed Chris Sabin in the ring and then hugged each other. Grayson Waller didn't look too happy with Theory and Gargano hugging in the ring. This could also potentially lead to Theory rejoining his former stablemate again.

DIY managed to retain their titles again after a hard-fought battle. However, it will be interesting to see if Johnny Gargano will reunite with Austin Theory again.
