Judgment Day betrayal at Money in the Bank would not mean anything, WWE veteran says (Exclusive)

The Judgment Day has been one of the most prominent factions in WWE since forming in 2022. Vince Russo, WWE's former head writer, does not think a possible feud between Judgment Day members Damian Priest and Finn Balor would excite fans.

Priest will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank on July 6. Over the last year, there have been several signs that Balor might not be on the same page as his Judgment Day stablemate.

Russo spoke to host Dr. Chris Featherstone on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing With Russo about the possibility of Balor vs. Priest. He also questioned whether any fans would care if El Campeón became a top babyface and The Demon turned against him.

"Bro, if Seth wins, Priest is dead," Russo stated. "Bro, here's what they're banking on. I'm telling you right now. Here's what they're banking on, 'Priest loses but he's gonna be okay, bro, because he's gonna be a huge babyface because The Judgment Day's gonna turn on him.' Here's what you and I know, and here's what they know deep down inside, bro, The Judgment Day has no heat, so that is not going to mean [anything]. Damian Priest beating up Finn Balor means zero. Vince Russo does not think a Judgment Day rivalry would draw money

During the Attitude Era, Vince Russo wrote storylines for Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and many other big WWE names before joining WCW. He also worked as a writer for TNA later.

According to Russo, WWE management likely shares his belief that Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor is not a money-making match.

"Bro, there is nobody in that company, nobody in that company, that believes Finn Balor and Damian Priest is money. Nobody, bro," stated Russo. [8:03 – 8:13]

While Priest holds the World Heavyweight Championship, Balor is one-half of the World Tag Team Champions with JD McDonagh. The Irishmen defeated The Miz and R-Truth on the June 24 episode of RAW to win the title.
