Gunther has been feuding with Cody Rhodes ahead of their match at WWE Crown Jewel 2024. That didn't prevent Judgment Day member JD McDonagh from taking a dig at the reigning World Heavyweight Champion.
At WWE Crown Jewel, Gunther will face Rhodes to crown the inaugural Crown Jewel Champion. This will be their first-ever singles match after they crossed paths during the 2023 Men's Royal Rumble Match.
On X (fka Twitter), McDonagh reacted to a fan poster from OTT Wrestling's 10th-anniversary show that read, "Gunther still fears our Irish Ace."

During McDonagh and Gunther's tenure on the independent circuit, they crossed paths in OTT. At the time, McDonagh was known as Jordan Devlin, and Gunther performed under his former name, Walter.
Bill Apter believes the Gunther-Goldberg feud will officially start at WWE Crown Jewel
Bill Apter believes Gunther and Goldberg's feud will officially begin at the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event.
Speaking on Smack Talk, the wrestling veteran made a major statement, suggesting that Goldberg could interfere during Gunther's match against Rhodes, leading to The Ring General suffering a huge loss. He said:
"The Goldberg scenario with Gunther was so in Atlanta several weeks ago. You've got Gunther vs. Cody [Rhodes] at Crown Jewel. What a great way to have Gunther lose. The referee takes a bump, and Goldberg comes in, and spears Gunther. Cody - 1,2,3! Then you get the Gunther-Goldberg slight feud to happen maybe or my other thing is - if it happens the other way, then Kevin Owens screws Cody. But I think that's how they bring Goldberg back. He's going to do something at Crown Jewel."
Gunther and Goldberg were involved in a verbal altercation at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event. The Hall of Famer almost engaged in a brawl with the current World Heavyweight Champion but was held back by security.
