Glenn Jacobs participated in several memorable WWE feuds during his first few years as the Kane persona. Vince Russo, a WWE writer around the time of The Big Red Machine's debut, recently disclosed details about working with baseball legend, Pete Rose.

On September 30, Rose passed away at the age of 83. Between 1998 and 2000, Kane attacked the former sports star at three consecutive WrestleMania events. Rose was later inducted into the 2004 WWE Hall of Fame as part of the celebrity wing.

Russo appeared on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Outlaws show with host Dr. Chris Featherstone and former WWE star, EC3. He recalled how Rose only cared about money and had no problem getting beaten up by Kane:

"We never told him beforehand what we wanted him to do," Russo said. "We just booked this date, appearance fee, the whole nine yards, then he'd come in and we'd sit him down, 'Okay, Pete, this is what we wanna do. Kane...' Whatever it is, 'This is what we wanna do.' Chris, this is what I loved about the dude. No matter what we threw his way, here was the question, 'No problem. How much?'" [7:34 – 8:02]

Vince Russo compares Pete Rose to another WWE Hall of Famer

Wrestling legend Kevin Nash has never been afraid to admit that finances motivated his decisions as an in-ring competitor.

Having interacted with Pete Rose before shows, Vince Russo thinks the celebrity guest had a similar mindset to Nash:

"That's it, bro, that's it. 'What are you paying?' That's all he cared about, bro. Never said no. Never was concerned. It was so like Kevin Nash. That's what I remember about him more than anything. Didn't even hear what we were pitching. All he wanted to know is what he was getting paid to do it." [8:03 – 8:26]

In the same episode, Russo revealed that a popular wrestler rejected a permanent spot on the NXT roster due to an issue with Triple H.
