Kane says WWE legend refused to talk to him for three days

Glenn Jacobs was one of WWE's most featured stars during his full-time run as the Kane character between 1997 and 2018. In a recent podcast appearance, The Big Red Machine amusingly recalled how Paul Bearer once stopped talking to him.

Bearer managed The Undertaker in the 1990s before aligning with The Deadman's storyline half-brother Kane in 1997. Outside the ring, the legendary wrestling personality traveled with The Brothers of Destruction when he managed them.

On The Undertaker's Six Feet Under w/Mark Calaway podcast, Kane said he promised Bearer they would visit a restaurant in Anaheim, California, before a show. When the plan changed due to time constraints, the WWE Hall of Fame manager allegedly did not speak to his on-screen ally for three days.

"I'm like, 'Yeah, man, that's cool,'" Kane stated. "'I'm gonna borrow the car, I'm gonna go to the gym, and then we'll run over there [to the restaurant] and hit it before the show.' Traffic was terrible, so I was late getting back. It was LA. And then we can't go to the restaurant. He wouldn't talk to me for like three days. He was so mad. He wouldn't even talk to me. It was a little uncomfortable." [2:22 – 2:49]

Kane said Bearer finally spoke to him again after he bought everyone dinner during a visit to a steakhouse with former WWE tag team The Godwinns.

The Undertaker had similar experiences to Kane

Although he managed other wrestlers during his four decades in the business, Paul Bearer is best remembered for his association with The Brothers of Destruction.

According to The Undertaker, anyone traveling with Bearer had to make sure they arrived on time and stuck to his plan:

"[Bearer arranged] where we stayed, where we ate, what time we left, and what time we left in the morning to go to the airport. If you weren't on his schedule, it was gonna be quiet in the car." [1:45 – 1:56]

On March 5, 2013, Bearer passed away at the age of 58 after suffering a heart attack. He was posthumously inducted into the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame.
