Karrion Kross recently shared a tidbit of information about his previous gimmick and why he has a different look now. Kross returned to WWE in August 2022 less than a year after getting released.
The Herald of Doomsday was a dominating star in NXT before getting ruined in his first stint on the main roster. He was subsequently released in November 2021. After spending some time on the independent circuit Triple H brought him back after Vince McMahon stepped down.
One of Kross' most prominent looks was his bald head, which he rocked way before he got signed to NXT. He has since grown out his hair and looks totally different as the leader of The Final Testament.
Speaking on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Karrion Kross revealed that he was bald by choice. Kross explained that one of the inspirations of his original character was Charles Bronson, who was a famous criminal in the United Kingdom. Bronson was known for being bald and menacing, which inspired Kross to start shaving his head:
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
"The character was very much like he appeared to have everything together. He wore nice suits, he had a nice haircut and he spoke really well. But he was ill-tempered and when the character became ill-tempered, (Charles) Bronson came out. So eventually, I just went full Bronson... It became a regular thing with the promoter going like, 'We want you mad all the time. Listen to the reactions.' I was like, 'Well, I might as well just get rid of all my hair,'" Kross said. Karrion Kross explains how he got signed by WWE
After stints in Mexico and TNA Wrestling, Karrion Kross signed with WWE and was assigned to NXT. Kross spent more than a year in developmental, winning the NXT Championship two times. But how did Kross get on the company's radar in the first place?
In the same appearance on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Kross revealed that it was Jon Moxley, formerly known as Dean Ambrose in WWE, who helped him get into Triple H's radar.
Moxley gave Triple H's number to Kross, who then sent a text message to The Game. They got in touch via phone call and Kross was in NXT a few months later. His first main roster stint was forgettable and wasted, while his second one is certainly an improvement.
