Kevin Nash is arguably one of the biggest all-around stars in wrestling history. Making a name a while before he became a founding member of the nWo, the Detroit native worked at the top for most of his career but has dealt with some health issues. The Hall of Famer has just opened up to correct recent talk making the rounds while also issuing a big update for next year.
Big Daddy Cool made headlines this week after Maryland Championship Wrestling shared footage of the two-time WWE Hall of Famer apologizing to fans for backing out of two weekend appearances. Booker T replaced Nash at one show while JBL filled in the next night. The promotion honored existing Meet & Greet packages with JBL and Booker and offered refunds upon request.
Nash noted in the video how he's had issues with a few herniated discs in his back and has been back and forth from therapy to doctors, MRIs, and so on. He continued and said he thought he'd be able to travel for a few appearances but is unable to take a flight, adding that he's not using pain medication and is "pretty much on raw nerves" when it comes to pain. The 65-year-old remarked that he paid the price in his career, then apologized again before a few more parting words.
Kevin cleared speculation with comments on his Kliq This podcast and heavy speculation on his health due to the MCW video. On the podcast, Nash said he was hurting so badly that he couldn't sit on the toilet after popping his shoulder during training a few days prior. The nWo member knew he needed surgery as he felt and heard his shoulder pop. He is set to attend an upcoming NXT taping but indicated that surgery could change the date he goes to Orlando.
Nash took to X today to clear up any confusion surrounding his health and the video message he sent to MCW. Kevin Nash claimed the video was about long-term issues, nothing that urgent, as he's in perfect health. The 34-year industry veteran declared he will return to 100% by mid-February 2025.
"I sent a video of me apologizing for not traveling this past weekend. It's due to an injury that will be repaired. Not a health issue. I'm in perfect health. I have a disc herniation at two levels. The procedure is same day and I'll walk out to my vehicle. I'll be 100% in 3 months," Kevin Nash wrote.
Kevin Nash last worked for WWE in December 2011, but he returned as a surprise entrant in the 2014 Royal Rumble. In his final years, he worked dozens of indie matches and retired after winning the BTW Heavyweight Championship on August 10, 2018.
Kevin Nash shares emotional tribute to Scott Hall
Scott Hall and Kevin Nash made wrestling history as The Outsiders in WCW, planting the seeds for the legendary nWo invasion. The duo teamed and competed in the years before that, as Razor Ramon and Diesel, among their other gimmicks.
Nash recently paid tribute to his longtime friend on what would have been Hall's 66th birthday. He thought they'd grow old together and mentioned the tragic passing of his son Tristen. He also included a photo of the nWo with Vince McMahon.
"Happy birthday, Scott. I thought we'd grow old together, guess it wasn't in the script. T yesterday and now you today. No wonder why I often feel lost. Love you my brother," Kevin Nash wrote with the photo below.
Scott Hall and Kevin Nash held the WCW World Tag Team Championship on six occasions. They also once had the TNA World Tag Team Championship as a trio with Eric Young. The former Razor Ramon and Diesel were also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame together as nWo members in 2020.
