The WWE Universe is buzzing over a direct insult fired by Kevin Owens. The Prizefighter just moved one step closer to accomplishing a major achievement in his career, and he's only thanking himself. After a hectic 2024, the Canadian grappler ended the year with a six-word statement to the fans.
The Canadian star hopes to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion when he challenges Cody Rhodes at the 38th annual Royal Rumble. After Owens refused to return the Winged Eagle Championship until he received a rematch, Nick Aldis booked Owens vs. Rhodes III as a Ladder Match at the premium live event. Both belts would be suspended above the ring.
In recent months, KO has engaged in many heel antics to help him achieve his goals, such as turning on longtime allies like Randy Orton and The American Nightmare himself. The company took to X/Twitter to share post-SmackDown footage of the 40-year-old taunting the WWE Universe with six words.
"I got what I wanted, idiots," Kevin Owens said in the video below.
Owens' first chance to capture the Undisputed WWE Title was granted by Cody, from a friend to a friend, at Bash In Berlin this past August. Rhodes was able to retain, but then KO targeted him for teaming with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood.
Their rematch took place at Saturday Night's Main Event, and the former AEW EVP was successful in retaining the gold. However, Owens attacked the champion following the bout and took the iconic Winged Eagle Title with him. Since then, he has been calling himself the "real WWE Champion."
