Kevin Owens brutally roasts Cody Rhodes on SmackDown with a 7-word message

The challenger to the Undisputed WWE Championship Kevin Owens had a brutal comment towards Cody Rhodes during the Michael Cole interview in the main event of SmackDown.

Michael Cole asked Cody Rhodes about what Triple H gifted him for "one night only". He couldn't get a word in before Kevin Owens interrupted from the titantron. He was in his car and began to take jabs at The American Nightmare over his betrayal and their friendship.

Owens roasted Cody by telling him that he was much better as Stardust. Specifically, he said, "You were much more interesting as Stardust". Cody responded by saying that while he was sure Kevin Owens had many more zingers up his sleeve, he was going to fetch him from backstage.

Of course, this turned out to be an ambush and while The Undisputed WWE Champion fought back, Owens got the last laugh of the night by taking the title and smacking Rhodes' face with it.

In what felt like the fifth time on the same night, security and WWE officials came out to cool things down and it was Kevin Owens who stood tall before their epic main event at Saturday Night in Long Island.

It's going to be interesting to see whether Kevin Owens can dethrone Cody Rhodes and become the Undisputed World Champion. It has been seven years since Owens last held any world title gold.

This has been a grudge feud that has been building for months and it's set to conclude at Saturday Night's Main Event.
