Jim Ross compared Kevin Owens to Stone Cold Steve Austin
Kevin Owens faced Stone Cold Steve Austin in the main event of WrestleMania 38. Austin's showdown against the former Universal Champion was his first official match since 2006.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross, stated that The Prizefighter was quite underrated and even compared Owens to Austin while praising his good habits. Ross said he liked the 40-year-old a lot.
“I think Kevin Owens is very underrated. He's got some Stone Cold [Steve Austin] qualities I think are important. Tough kid. Good dude. He's not overwhelmed with chrome. He's a smart guy. And I like Owens a lot," said Ross.
Owens is a former multi-time champion in the Stamford-based promotion. Throughout his WWE career, he has won several championships, including the United States Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, and the NXT Championship.
His last reign as a champion began at WrestleMania 39 when he won the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship with his best friend, Sami Zayn. The duo defeated The Usos to win the titles in the main event of The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Kevin Owens is currently involved in The Bloodline's feud with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. It remains to be seen when he will return to WWE television and what further plans the promotion has in store for the former Universal Champion.
