WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston has been in a tumultuous situation for several weeks. The former champion has run into several disagreements with his longtime friend and The New Day teammate. While he had been keeping his cool so far, a huge title opportunity miss this week finally prompted him to abandon Xavier Woods.
He has been teasing a heel turn on Monday Night RAW for several weeks and has become very selfish lately. The record-breaking 11-time WWE Tag Team Champion has asked Kofi Kingston to give him the reins of The New Day as its “QB.” However, his self-centered approach only makes the group lose its longtime allies like Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, and Jey Uso.
Woods has also been turning on Kingston often and asking him why he isn’t letting him lead the faction's decision-making. This week, however, he had the chance to finish off Dragon Lee with Daylight and win a shot for the World Tag Team Championship. Instead, he went after Lee’s partner Rey Mysterio, who had just arrived on the apron.
This blunder resulted in Kingston getting annihilated by The War Raiders, who will now go on to face Finn Balor and JD McDonagh for the titles. A frustrated Kofi Kingston asked Woods why he did what he did, only to be silenced by his partner claiming to be the “QB” again.

Trying to calm the situation, Woods said they would speak about something else while driving back home to cool off. However, the former WWE Champion abandoned his longtime ally and said he would find his ride home.
Notably, The New Day duo was so engrossed in their argument that they overlooked The Miz getting kidnapped behind them by Dexter Lumis. With Kofi Kingston finally stepping back from Woods, it would be interesting to see if he finally turns heel or if this brings him back to his good ways.
