Kofi Kingston gets angry after 11-time WWE champion said he "dropped the ball"

Kofi Kingston missed a chance to contest for the World Tag Team Championship last week. The New Day member was already upset about an almost-win converting into a loss. However, he became furious on this week’s episode of RAW when Xavier Woods blamed him for the defeat.

The 11-time WWE Tag Team Champion and Kofi Kingston had almost neutralized Dragon Lee to win in the final round of the number-one contender’s match. However, Woods went after Rey Mysterio instead of executing Daylight on Lee, who had just made it on the apron.

This was a costly decision as The War Raiders took over while Woods was away and pinned Kingston, earning the title shot instead. Cathy Kelley interviewed The New Day backstage this week and asked about the loss.

However, things quickly turned into an argument when Woods said Kofi “dropped the ball.” Moreover, as they argued, The Wyatt Sicks interrupted the segment and took over the broadcast to release their video showcasing a captured Miz.

Following this, The New Day entered a match with The War Raiders. However, instead of winning in a head-to-head confrontation, they lost because of another decision by Woods. He tagged himself in before Kofi Kingston landed a Trouble in Paradise.

Xavier Woods said he wanted to end things with his Limit Break Elbow, which Michael Cole said wasn’t how New Day usually did business. The small window of distraction gave the War Raiders the advantage they needed to demolish their opponents for the second consecutive week.

It would be interesting to see what happens next with the tensions between an all-time high in The New Day and when Uncle Howdy seemingly has his eye on Woods.
