On RAW, Kofi and Xavier Woods addressed the WWE Universe and were loudly booed for the entirety of the promo. In the end, Kofi approached his mom, who was sitting at ringside. He told her that she didn't deserve to see her son getting booed out of the building by fans.
Kofi's mom refused to hug him and left the spot, leaving him confused. The capacity crowd cheered her loudly for the decision.

Kofi was one of the most over acts in WWE five years ago. He beat Daniel Bryan for the WWE title at WrestleMania 35 and received one of the loudest pops that year.
Fans were furious when Kofi Kingston lost the title to Brock Lesnar in a matter of seconds on SmackDown later that year. Five years later, fans are glad Kofi suffered an embarrassing loss to The Beast Incarnate that night, and he is now seemingly the most hated man in all of WWE.
