Kurt Angle is undoubtedly one of the most talented stars in WWE history, cementing his name in the company's legacy. However, he apparently had a dream match that never happened to cap off his run, and EC3 recently opened up what Angle told him about his retirement match.
One of the most memorable feuds Kurt Angle had was with John Cena, with the latter's first televised match being with Kurt himself. As such, it is understandable that legend wanted to face The Cenation Leader as his last match, which unfortunately never happened. According to Kurt, this may have been due to him not being appreciated in his second run with WWE.
On Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, former WWE star EC3 talked about a conversation he had with Kurt about his final match. He stated:
"Him going to the WWE, I think we all maybe wanted to see more. I really hope it wasn't previous like, 'I am gonna get you in the end, hahaha.' But if that's what Kurt thinks, I can't tell him, the man how to think how to feel. I do know that I remember talking to him within the realm of TNA. I am like, how do you wanna go out? He's like, 'I think going out wrestling Cena, how he came in, would be my, like, the coolest way for me to go out.' Unfortunately we didn't get to see it, I think he deserved it." [8:16 onwards]

EC3 also talked about a match he had with the WWE Hall of Famer
According to EC3, facing Kurt Angle in a World Title match had been a childhood dream of his.
As fate would have it, EC3 did get a chance to live his dream. In 2015, the young star defeated Kurt Angle after a grueling 20-minute bout, becoming the champion in the process. On the same episode of Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 stated:
"I've said this before, but when I was a kid, someone would ask me, 'Hey man, what's your dream match? You wanna do this pro-wrestling so bad?' I am like, I wanna wrestle Kurt Angle for a World Title. Then they laughed at me. But guess what? I did. And I won." [7:20 onwards]
WWE recognized Kurt Angle's contributions to the pro wrestling industry and made him a Hall of Famer in 2017.
