On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, LA Knight was involved in a singles match against Santos Escobar. He was assaulted by his SummerSlam opponent, Logan Paul, after the bout.

During the match, The Megastar took down the Legado Del Fantasma member with a hip toss and a strike in the corner. He landed a few punches but was dropped on the top turnbuckle. Escobar nailed Knight with a few kicks and hit a big chop. He followed it up with a vertical suplex.

Santos Escobar pulled out a spinebuster and locked his opponent in a modified sharpshooter, but LA Knight immediately broke the hold. He took down the heel with a clothesline, but Escobar sent him neck-first into the bottom rope. Elektra Lopez, who was ringside, slapped the former Million Dollar Champion while the referee was distracted.

Santos hit LA Knight in the corner with the running double knees and got a two-count. The Megastar planted the 40-year-old with a neckbreaker and hit a DDT for a two-count. Knight did a powerslam, and Lopez distracted the referee again to allow Logan Paul to interfere.

LA took down the United States Champion with a clothesline and won the match via pinfall after performing the BFT. The Maverick and Escobar assaulted Knight after the match. Logan Paul nailed his SummerSlam opponent with a frog splash from the top rope.
