LA Knight will challenge Logan Paul for the United States Championship this Saturday at WWE SummerSlam. A wrestling veteran believes The Megastar must win the title for one significant reason.
Since joining the main roster, Knight has been vocal about his desire to capture gold. Although he had a few opportunities to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, the 41-year-old failed to accomplish the mission. He will now get a chance to become United States Champion when he goes one-on-one against The Maverick at SummerSlam. Speaking on the Drive-Thru podcast, wrestling veteran Jim Cornette claimed The Megastar must leave Cleveland with the title.
The 62-year-old pointed out that Paul's drawing power would not be affected by a loss against Knight, especially with his heel persona already drawing major heat from the fans. Meanwhile, the WWE Universe could turn on The Megastar if he continued failing to deliver when it truly mattered.
"LA Knight needs to win this. Logan Paul has mega heat because he's an annoying f***ing celebrity with a big mouth. But LA Knight needs to win something sooner or later or his over is gonna be negatively impacted. So, now we can say the same thing. I don't think that Logan Paul will be hurt in his drawing power by losing the belt to LA Knight because he is a heel and got a big mouth. But I think LA Knight a babyface that never delivers the godda*m milk to the f***ing widow Ripley is, you know, you're just no. Sooner or later they're gonna go, 'Well, f***, he never does anything," he said. [6:05 - 6:50]

Another wrestling veteran thinks LA Knight shouldn't win at WWE SummerSlam
While Jim Cornette believes LA Knight must emerge victorious at WWE SummerSlam this Saturday, wrestling veteran, Dutch Mantell thinks otherwise. The former WWE manager claimed Logan Paul should retain his title in his hometown of Cleveland.
The 74-year-old pointed out that he would prefer The Megastar to continue his chase for the title for a little longer.
"Give him another big kick in the a*s and let him move out of the way. [....] Just because he doesn't get it, when he gets it, you know what that means? He's gotta lose it. So I would drag it out as far as I could. That's what I would do. Whether it works or not, we'll have to see. But it would work," said Mantell. [33:08 onwards]
Logan Paul has defended his title twice since capturing it at Crown Jewel last November. It would be interesting to see if he can retain it for a third time this Saturday.
