Bray Wyatt's final completed storyline before his untimely passing was with LA Knight, who was not very popular among the WWE Universe at the time. They wrestled at the 2023 Royal Rumble in a never-before-seen Pitch Black Match and a few live events thereafter.

LA Knight, 42, is now known as The Megastar. Longtime followers of various wrestling shows of which Knight was part can argue that he was already a very talented athlete, but a needle in the haystack. Working with the former Universal Champion put him on the map.

In the wake of the new year, the YouTube channel WittyWhittier interviewed The Megastar. Right off the gate, he reflected on the impact Bray Wyatt had on his career. Knight recalled despite fading back to oblivion after their program, the fans took notice of him, and a lot of the love that came his way was on account of what the two stalwarts were able to pull off from late 2022 to early 2023:

"The only thing I can really attribute [my rise to prominence] was taking advantage of some of the time that I had when I was doing the whole deal with Bray Wyatt. At the time, still, it was kind of like, 'We don't know about this guy.' But it seems like—once I got out of that, I didn't have any direction for months; there was nothing happening with me. But somehow in that time is when, 'Oh wait a minute. I think we like this guy.' I don't know what it was, but clearly, I must have been making the most of my time," LA Knight said. Knight concluded that he could not put his finger on it as the exact moment the tides changed is unclear. However, his organic surge in popularity only grew in proportions despite not being featured regularly on the company's weekly shows.

Is LA Knight back to where he was two years ago?

The Megastar of WWE made his WrestleMania debut in 2024 and won his first championship belt later that year at SummerSlam. But before the year drew to a close, he lost it to Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series: WarGames.

Watch the crowd reaction after LA Knight won his first WWE title:

Wrestling personalities such as Jim Cornette and Konnan have voiced their concerns ever since regarding the 42-year-old. Cornette alleges that WWE CCO Triple H is offended by LA Knight and that is why he is being booked so poorly.

Konnan also raised an eyebrow on a recent episode of K100, speculating that the company may be dropping the ball on Knight. It remains to be seen where things go from here for the former United States Champion.
