LA Knight has a huge role on SmackDown next week after he was announced as the special guest referee for an important match by General Manager Nick Aldis. It looks like the stakes have gotten even higher.
This week on SmackDown, Nick Aldis was a busy man, dealing with multiple complaints from stars like Nia Jax and Randy Orton as well as having to manage the feud between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes - both of whom are now tied at 3-3.
Considering how LA Knight was recently involved with both men, Nick Aldis felt it made sense to have him be the special guest referee for Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes 'Game Seven' next week.

When Andrade and Carmelo Hayes tried to have a face-to-face curated by Byron Saxton, things were quick to break down and Nick Aldis had to get in the way. With LA Knight having recently defeated Carmelo Hayes, it made sense to put him in that spot.
There's no word yet as to whether the winner will get a United States Championship opportunity. However, it would be a logical decision, considering the United States Champion's involvement.
It's going to be interesting to see who wins 'Game Seven' between the two rivals. It has led to six incredible matches so far on SmackDown.
