LA Knight takes a shot at former opponent

WWE Superstar LA Knight had a highly successful night on the July 19, 2024 episode of SmackDown. After weeks of in-ring and online feuding, The Megastar finally secured a match against Logan Paul for the United States Championship. Moments later, however, Knight ran into a former opponent who tried to question his status as the number-one contender for the title at SummerSlam.

Santos Escobar was also a part of the MITB qualifier Triple Threat match where LA Knight pinned Logan Paul to take the win. The Mexican superstar said that between both of them, they knew who was the better wrestler since LA didn’t pin him. In response, The Megastar gave a quirky response to Escobar.

“Clearly you didn't major in history, because I've been a part of that story a couple times and I know how it went. But I tell you what, SummerSlam is still a couple weeks away, so I might have a little free time. If you want to get in touch with me, your mom's got my number,” said Knight.

Notably, LA Knight has already pinned Santos Escobar once in a Triple Threat match with Bobby Lashley on April 12, 2024. Now, The Megastar will collide with him in singles action next week to nail his point home.

It would be interesting to see if the Legado del Fantasma leader can beat Knight and possibly insert himself in the US Championship match in Cleveland.
