What’s the story?
Speaking to TV Insider, WWE Superstar Lana gave her views on a myriad of topics including a long list of her dream opponents as well as a potential move from Monday Night RAW to SmackDown LIVE.
In case you didn’t know...
Lana (CJ Perry) is best known for being the on-screen manager of her real-life husband and fellow WWE Superstar Rusev who is currently on hiatus from the squared circle owing to an injury.
With her managerial duties taking a backseat, Lana has been training at the WWE Performance Center and has also been working a few matches in NXT in order to improve her in-ring skills.
The heart of the matter:
The Ravishing Russian revealed a list of potential Superstars whom she’d like to face inside the ring. Here are a few excerpts from her conversation with TV Insider:
“Stephanie McMahon is one of my dream matches, but I have a lot of dreams. Charlotte, Bayley, Trinity, Becky (Lynch), all the girls. The Bella Twins, if both came back. I feel like everyone has something different to bring to the table.
Maybe some people can do more flips or some are stronger or some are a little bit faster or some have an intriguing character to pull from. I think they all have so much to offer.”
She added:
“You see how I react to it. It’s hard for me to say because I love Raw and the people I work with. I think SmackDown LIVE is an incredible show. I think the way they have built the characters has been great.
They utilise everyone and have put all the women into compelling stories. It would be an honour to go to SmackDown, too. I’m working hard because one of these days I will go for a championship.”
What’s next?
Rusev is expected to return in about 2-4 months from now and in the meantime, fans can catch Lana on the WWE-based reality show Total Divas that airs on the E! Network.
Author’s take
For those of you who haven’t followed her exploits outside of WWE, you ought to know that Lana is an accomplished dancer and athlete. She seems legitimately interested in competing as a wrestler and if she keeps putting in the work at the Performance Center, who’s to say that she can’t bag a WWE Women’s title?
