Bo Dallas appeared in an interview segment with his on-screen alter-ego Uncle Howdy on the June 24 episode of WWE RAW. The unique presentation mostly received positive reviews online. However, legendary reporter, Bill Apter, was unconvinced by the Wyatt Sicks leader's latest development.
On June 17, Dallas' Uncle Howdy persona returned alongside fellow Wyatt Sicks members Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, and Nikki Cross. A week later, Dallas opened up to Uncle Howdy about his late brother Bray Wyatt.
Apter appeared on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine show with host Mac Davis and WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long. He questioned whether WWE was right to revolve Dallas' return around Wyatt:
"Again, I'm not a big fan of that whole thing," Apter said. "I understand that they're trying to make a tribute and bring Bray Wyatt back in some fashion, but I thought that was too personal to be lumped into this gimmicky gimmick that they have going on with this." [5:03 – 5:26]
In Apter's opinion, the segment might have worked better if it was not part of the new Wyatt Sicks storyline:
"I would have liked to have seen Bo Dallas do that divorced from this gimmick. Maybe months and months ago, I would have loved to have seen that. But, again, they've lumped it in with this whole Wyatt gimmick and I just didn't feel it apropros to be in that thing. I really didn't." [6:20 – 6:41]

Teddy Long on the pros and cons of the Uncle Howdy segment
Bo Dallas' interview began with Uncle Howdy pressing him on several personal topics. The masked character even questioned how Dallas felt after Bray Wyatt died.
Teddy Long thought the interview, which aired via a VHS tape, was well produced. However, the Wyatt Sicks storyline does not resonate with him yet but he was curious to see what the promotion did with the storyline.
"Well, I just thought the production part and the way it was put together, I thought that was very good," Long stated. "Like I said, I'm not so much into that story, so I'm kinda confused. I'd rather watch this a little bit further and kinda see exactly what they're doing, where they're going with it." [6:43 – 7:05]
Former WWE writer Vince Russo also raised concerns about how fans will react to The Wyatt Sicks in the coming months.
