A Hall of Famer and 18-time champion returned to WWE for the first time since WrestleMania 40 at NXT Halloween Havoc. Bubba Ray Dudley was a guest analyst along with Busted Open Radio co-host Dave LaGreca before helping Trick Williams at the end of the show.

Bubba Ray was the surprise guest referee in the six-man tag team match between The Almighty Profits and The Final Testament at WrestleMania 40. It was held in Philadelphia, so there was a personal connection for the WWE Hall of Famer.

During the pre-show and the main show, Ridge Holland interrupted Bubba Ray and LaGreca. It drew the ire of the 10-time WWE Tag Team Champion and eight-time Hardcore Champion, who warned Holland not to do it again.

After Williams retained his NXT Championship against Ethan Page, Holland attacked the champion. Page tried confronting the former Brawling Brute member before realizing it was better for them to team up. But before they could do more damage, Bubba Ray appeared to make the save.

With NXT set to have a show at the old ECW Arena on November 6 on The CW network, having a former ECW star like Bubba Ray Dudley on the show makes it special.

Based on what happened at the end of Halloween Havoc, Bubba Ray and Trick Williams will likely team up to face Ridge Holland and Ethan Page.
