Cody Rhodes' second tenure in the company has been a resounding success, culminating in his current reign as the Undisputed WWE Champion since WrestleMania XL. Having interacted with numerous veterans throughout his career, The American Nightmare recently highlighted one individual in particular as an exceptional locker room leader.

Ahead of the 2024 Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, Rhodes sat down for an interview with FLAGRANT. Among other topics, such as finishing his story in Philadelphia and addressing issues with The Rock, the 39-year-old star also discussed his role as the ultimate babyface in the new era of WWE.

The American Nightmare acknowledged John Cena's unique babyface ability to polarize audiences, stating that the legend's presence guaranteed a full house, regardless of whether fans cheered or booed him. Cody Rhodes also praised the 47-year-old superstar as one of the best locker-room leaders.

"My model in the industry and a guy I drove around for a few years, God bless him; one of the best locker room leaders the company ever had was John Cena. John is the virtuous, the goodest of good, but he had a really unique thing with the audience where half the people were there to see him win and the other half were there to see him lose and that still means, they're all here for John," said Rhodes. Cody Rhodes and John Cena's status for WWE Crown Jewel

This year's Crown Jewel will take place on November 2 at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Saudi Arabia. Among both stars, only Cody Rhodes will be in action at the PLE.

The American Nightmare will go head-to-head with Gunther for the first-ever Men's Crown Jewel Championship. Rhodes has vouched to become a double champion in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, John Cena competed at last year's Crown Jewel. The former WWE Champion faced The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa in a singles match. Unfortunately, fans were disheartened when The Street Champion brutalized and manhandled The Cenation Leader to claim victory.

While Cena has not been officially announced for Crown Jewel, his potential participation in the premium live event remains uncertain, as a surprise appearance is not entirely out of the question.
