Legendary wrestler announces retirement match at 49 years of age; only three months left

A legendary wrestler is set to retire at the end of the year. The star announced his retirement at a big event this week.

Konomama Ichikawa, a legend of Dragongate Japan Pro-Wrestling announced his retirement. The star is bringing an end to his career after 20 years with the promotion. The announcement was made at the Kobe Sambo Hall show where he was part of the Royal Toryumon Sambo Battle Royal.

He joined the promotion in 2004 and became very popular after the Reckless Run series. He ended up facing several legends and huge stars, including the Great Kabuki, Kintaro Kanemura, Yoshihiro Takayama, and even a female legend like Aja Kong. He started his wrestling career in 1998, but began a proper run in Japan in 1999.

During the show in Kobe, the wrestler announced that he would be ending his career with a retirement match in December. The match is set to take place on December 17 in the famous Korakuen Hall.

Over the course of his career, he has had quite a few different names, including Stalker Ichikawa, which became the most famous.

The wrestler became a legend because of his comedy act and his ability to remain extremely popular despite losing regularly. As a beloved part of the wrestling world, fans have started talking about how much they will miss him.
