WWE Universe will be bidding farewell to one of the most iconic superstars of all time next year. Bill Goldberg has announced that he will be hanging up his wrestling boots after a retirement match in 2025.
The 57-year-old is one of the most popular names to have entered the squared circle. He started his pro wrestling career in 1997 and went on to have one of the most legendary streaks in his very first year. While Goldberg had a short first stint in WWE, he returned to the company in 2016 for another run.
The former Universal Champion has wrestled sporadically in the last few years, with his last outing to the squared circle coming in 2022 when he lost to Roman Reigns. He was recently involved in an altercation with Gunther which led many to speculate that the legendary will be returning to in-ring action for a final run.
Goldberg has now confirmed the same, noting that he has spoken with three WWE executives and that he will be competing in his last bout in 2025. Da Man also teased Gunther being his final "victim." However, the exact date and time of his retirement match is still unknown.

Gunther sent a message to WWE legend Goldberg
Goldberg was present at Bad Blood when he was confronted by Gunther. The Ring General took a shot at the icon, even dragging his son into the conversation. However, the duo were separated before things could turn physical.
Amid speculations of the 57-year-old returning for a match against The Ring General, the latter sent a message to the WWE legend, stating that he is happy to teach him a lesson.
''He [Goldberg] doesn't seem able to take things lightly. I tried to lighten up the mood a little bit. If push comes to shove and he thinks he wants to get back into the business and wrestle again, then I'm happy to teach him a lesson,'' he said. [H/T: POST Wrestling]
Goldberg has now seemingly suggested that the duo could clash once the former makes his in-ring return. It is still unknown if the Hall of Famer will be returning for one final run or just a last retirement match.
